WOO-HOO!!!! I'm going to be rich!

I am so lucky! I got this e-mail this morning. I am going to answer it as soon as I get my house and car and truck on the market so I can pay the miniscule charges that I am sure will be attached to this wonderful bonanza.

From Mrs Rebecca Williams
N[38 Rue Des Martyrs Cocody
Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire

ATTN:
DEAREST ONE OF GOD
I am the above named person from Kuwait . I am married to Mr Benson Williams, who worked with Kuwait embassy in Ivory Coast for nine years before he died in the year 2004. We were married for eleven years without a child. He died after a brief illness that lasted for only four days.

Before his death we were both born again Christian. Since his death I decided not to remarry or get a child outside my matrimonial home which the Bible is against. When my late husband was alive he deposited the sum of $2. 5 Million (Two Million Five Hundred U.S. Dollars) in the bank here in Abidjan in suspense account.

Presently, the fund is still with the bank. Recently, my Doctor told me that i have serious sickness which is cancer problem. The one that disturbs me most is my stroke sickness. Having known my condition I decided to donate this fund to a church or individual that will utilize this money the way I am going to instruct herein. I want a church that will use this fund for orphanages, widows, propagating the word of God and to endeavour that the house of God is maintained.

The Bible made us to understand that blessed is the hand that giveth. I took this decision because I don稚 have any child that will inherit this money and my husband relatives are not Christians and I don稚 want my husband痴 efforts to be used by unbelievers. I don稚 want a situation where this money will be used in an ungodly way. This is why I am taking this decision. I am not afraid of death hence i know where I am going. I know that I am going to be in the bosom of the Lord. Exodus 14 VS 14 says that the Lord will fight my case and I shall hold my peace.

I don稚 need any telephone communication in this regard because of my health hence the presence of my husband痴 relatives is around me always I don't want them to know about this development. With God all things are possible. As soon as I receive your reply I shall give you the contact of the bank here in Abidjan . I want you and the church to always pray for me because the Lord is my shepherd. My happiness is that I lived a life of a worthy Christian. Whoever that wants to serve the Lord must serve him in spirit and Truth. Please always be prayerful all through your life.

Contact me on the above e-mail address for more information痴, any delay in your reply will give me room in sourcing another church or individual for this same purpose. Please assure me that you will act accordingly as I Stated herein. Hoping to receive your
reply.
Remain blessed in the Lord.
Yours in Christ,
Mrs Rebecca Williams.

More Windows 7 stuff

Unfortunately, I had to remove Windows 7 from my desktop PC. I bought a new all in one printer from HP, and it wouldn't work on Windows 7. I got a message saying that HP did not have drivers for that OS. I called HP, and they wern't able to help me. I still have it on my laptop, though, and still like it a lot.

Yech! More snow.

Seems like Winter lasts as long as the other three seasons combined. At least it does to me. Particularly when it snows. I was just out in snow half way up to my knees...and I am tall, too....refilling the blasted bird feeders. I have gotten silly in my old age. So far we have at least eight inches of snow and it is coming down really hard. I expect a foot, if not more by the time it is finished. This is Marsha's car 5 minutes ago. More pictures when it quits snowing. I will see if I can figure out how to lighten it a bit. This camera baffles me.

(Thanks to my friend Falsie (www.washingtoncube.blogspot.com)for fixing the picture for me.)

Not a Messiah, Not a Saviour. Simply our new President.

Many people seem to think that our new president is either a Messiah or a Saviour.

I certainly hope they are not too disappointed when they find out he is neither.

I will be happy if he is able to accomplish a significant part of what he appears to have promised to do, and can get our economy to begin to get on the right track, and get us out of these futile wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Chief Justice may have his doubts...he stumbled over the oath when he was administering it to the new president.

Katie Couric said today that my wife's acquaintance, Joe Biden, was the president for a few minutes. Biden was sworn in as vice-president shortly before noon. President Bush's job ended, by law, at noon. President Obama was not sworn in until several minutes after noon. Seems to me that Biden may have been president for a few minutes. (Where is Alexander Haig when we need him)

Bitter Cold!

Fifteen below zero here this morning. Wind chill 33 below zero. I've never seen it that cold before. Some places, according to the news, have been as low as 47 below. Hard to believe. I'll post this picture of one of the trees in my yard in the Spring to make myself feel warmer. :)

Darn! It's Cold!

4 degrees this morning. Going down to zero this afternoon, with a wind chill around 20 below zero. 10 below zero tonight. Snowed all day yesterday, although mostly not heavily. I'm surprised we only got 5 inches of snow. Worse thing about it is that I won't be able to go to Pulmonary Rehab this morning. Hate to miss that.

It's Snowing! Yech!

It just started snowing a couple of hours ago. Pictures from my front door.

More Windows 7 Beta Stuff

So far, I've liked Windows 7 on my laptop so well, that I have now downloaded it to my desktop pc as well as to my laptop. It really does seem to operate quicker, and has a few new gadgets to play with. I'm quite happy so far. My wife claims that I have ambitions to be the oldest geek around.

Cold Air Coming!!

ICK!! Weatherbug tells me it's going to be minus 7 Thursday night. I'm sure that means at least minus 10. Anyone heading South and have room for one more? If I hadn't shaved my beard off, I would probably look like this dude.

Windows 7 Beta

I downloaded and installed Windows 7 Beta today. So far, it seems pretty cool. Only thing I am having trouble with, is personalizing my desktop. I don't really care for the different settings that are available so far. I'm sure something different will come out before the beta test ends in August of this year. When the test ends, I will have to install a new OS on my laptop, but I made recovery discs so I am ok there. Microsoft recommends a dedicated test computer for the beta test, so I put it on my new laptop, which I haven't used very much. I'll let everyone know what I think of it.

One thing I thought was pretty cute....This is a beta program and the default desktop is:

A Siamese fighting fish, more commonly known as a beta. Some people spell it with two t's. i.e. betta. I'm not too sure which is actually correct, and it doesn't seem important enough to look up.

For my desktop I chose:

I apologize for the quality of the picture. I guess you have to be smarter than the camera to take a good picture.
